# Sign in to VahanQR and reset your password

> Sign in to VahanQR with your mobile number and password or a one-time code (OTP), and reset a forgotten password by email.

You sign in to VahanQR on the [login page](~/login) with your mobile number and password, or — when MJX has it switched on — with a one-time code (OTP) instead of a password. Owners, societies and admins all use the same page and are taken to their own dashboard.

## How to sign in with a password

1. Open the [login page](~/login) and stay on the **Sign In** tab.
2. Type your **Mobile Number**. Your registered email also works.
3. Type your **Password**.
4. Press [[Sign In]].

> You land on your dashboard: **My Vehicles** for an owner, the society dashboard for a society, or the admin panel for MJX staff.

## How to sign in with an OTP

When OTP sign-in is on, you see two choices above the form: **Password** and **OTP**.

1. Choose **OTP**.
2. Type your **Mobile Number or Email** and press [[Send OTP]]. "No password needed — we'll send you a one-time code."
3. You see where it was sent, for example "OTP sent to a\*\*\*\*@example.com and WhatsApp 98\*\*\*\*\*10. Valid for 10 minutes."
4. Type the 6-digit code in **One-Time Password** and press [[Verify & Sign In]].

Did not get it? Wait for **Resend OTP in 30s** to finish and press [[Resend OTP]]. Typed the wrong number? Press [[Change number]].

## How to reset a forgotten password

1. On the login page, press **Forgot password?**
2. Type your registered **Mobile Number** and press [[Send Reset Link]].
3. You see "If registered, a reset link has been sent to your email."
4. Open the email "VahanQR — Password Reset Request" and press the reset link. It works for 15 minutes.
5. Type a **New Password** (at least 6 characters) and **Confirm Password**.
6. Press [[Reset Password]], then sign in with the new password.

> The reset link goes only to the email on your account. If your account has no email, sign in with OTP instead, or [contact support](support).

## How to sign out

On the owner dashboard, press [[Logout]] at the top right. On the society dashboard, press [[Log out]].

## Limits that protect your account

| 5 OTP requests in 10 minutes | "Too many OTP requests. Please try again in a few minutes." |
| 5 wrong OTP attempts | "Too many wrong attempts. Please request a new OTP." |
| OTP older than 10 minutes | "OTP expired. Please request a new one." |
| Reset link older than 15 minutes | "Reset link is invalid or expired" |

## Who can sign in here

Vehicle owners, society accounts, and MJX's Admin, Super Admin and Sales staff. A society account always opens the society dashboard and cannot open the owner dashboard.

## Tips

- Use a password you do not use anywhere else.
- Add an email to your account — it is how you get your sticker and reset your password.

## Questions people ask

### Can I sign in with my email instead of my mobile number?

Yes. The password and OTP sign-in both accept your registered mobile number or email.

### Where does the OTP go?

To your account email and, when WhatsApp is switched on, to your WhatsApp number. The message after you press Send OTP says exactly where.

### How long is the OTP valid?

10 minutes. You can ask for a new one after 30 seconds.

### I have no email on my account. How do I reset my password?

The reset link is sent only by email. Sign in with OTP if it is available, or contact support.

### How long does a session last?

You stay signed in for about 7 days on the same browser, or until you press Logout.
