# VahanQR user types — owner, scanner, society and admin

> The people who use VahanQR — vehicle owners, people who scan, housing societies and MJX staff — and what each one can see and do.

VahanQR has four kinds of users: the **vehicle owner** who registers a vehicle, the **person scanning** a sticker, a **housing society** that issues stickers to residents, and **MJX staff** who run the service. Everyone signs in on the same [login page](~/login), and VahanQR sends each account to its own home screen.

## Vehicle owner

The owner is anyone who registers a vehicle. They sign up at [Register Free](~/register) or by activating a pre-printed sticker.

**Home screen:** the owner dashboard (`/dashboard`).

## Person scanning

Anyone who scans a VahanQR sticker with a phone camera. They need no account and install nothing.

On the scan page they can:

- see the vehicle type, use and model, the owner's name, and the plate with the last four characters hidden (for example `MP09XY####`)
- call the owner — directly, or as a masked call, depending on the owner's plan
- call the owner's emergency contacts
- send the owner a message, with an optional reason
- tap **Emergency** to dial ambulance, police, fire and other helplines

## Housing society

A society account is for apartment complexes, gated communities, rental buildings and parking operators. One contact person registers the society at [Register your society](~/society/register).

**Home screen:** the society dashboard (`/society`).

Residents activate the society's stickers themselves. The society's privacy plan covers them, so they pay nothing. See [Society dashboard](societies/society-dashboard).

## MJX staff: Admin, Super Admin and Sales

These accounts are created by MJX for its own team. They are not available to customers.

|---|---|
| **Sales** | Activate unassigned pre-printed stickers from the scan page. |
| **Admin** | Everything Sales can, plus the admin panel's **Assign QR** and **My Assignments** pages. Cannot delete anything or bulk-generate QR codes. |
| **Super Admin** | Full admin panel: **Dashboard**, **Vehicles**, **Users**, **QR Manager**, **Bulk Print QR**, **Societies**, sticker printing, **Demo Video** and **Settings** (prices, free minutes, payment gateway, call provider, alerts and who may activate stickers). |

## Questions people ask

### Does the person scanning need an account?

No. Anyone can open the scan page, call, message or dial emergency services without signing in.

### Can one mobile number be both a vehicle owner and a society account?

No. Each mobile number and each email belongs to one account only.

### Can a society see residents' phone numbers?

No. The society dashboard shows the resident's name and vehicle number only, never their phone or email.

### How do I become an admin?

Admin, Super Admin and Sales accounts are set up by MJX for its own staff. There is no sign-up for them.
