Emergency help from a VahanQR sticker — family contacts and helplines
In an accident, use the VahanQR sticker to call the owner's emergency contacts or dial ambulance 108, police 100 and fire 101 in one tap.
Every VahanQR scan page has two kinds of emergency help: the vehicle owner's emergency contacts — family or friends they chose — and an Emergency button with India's main helplines. Use them when the owner cannot be reached, or after an accident.
#How to call the owner's emergency contacts
- Scan the sticker.
- Below Call Owner, press Emergency 1, Emergency 2 or Emergency 3. Only the contacts the owner added are shown.
- On No Privacy (or Light Privacy with no minutes), your phone dials the contact directly.
- Otherwise a masked-call window opens. Type the plate's Last 4 Digits and Your Phone, then press Setup Masked Call. You get a call that connects you to the contact.
#How to call emergency services
- Press Emergency at the top right of the scan page.
- The Emergency Services list opens — "India — tap to call".
- Tap a service to dial it.
| Service | Number |
|---|---|
| Ambulance | 108 |
| Police | 100 |
| Fire Brigade | 101 |
| Road Accident | 1073 |
| Women Helpline | 1091 |
| Disaster Mgmt | 108 |
These calls go straight from your phone. They do not use VahanQR or the owner's minutes.
#Alert everyone with one message
A message from the scan page reaches the owner, and — on Light or Strict Privacy — their emergency contacts by SMS and WhatsApp. In an accident, write what happened and where. See Send a message.
#For owners: set up your emergency contacts
- Add two contacts who usually answer their phone, for example a parent and a spouse, at sign-up.
- Choose Light or Strict Privacy so your contacts also get SMS and WhatsApp alerts when someone sends a message.
- Tell your contacts they may get a call or message from VahanQR about your vehicle.
- The sign-up form takes two contacts. A third (Emergency 3) can be added by MJX support.
To change your contacts later, contact support.
