Send a message to a vehicle owner from a VahanQR sticker
Send the owner of a car or bike a message from the VahanQR scan page — pick a reason, add your name and number, and press Send.
Sending a message is the simplest way to reach a vehicle owner through VahanQR. It works on every plan, even when the owner cannot take calls. The owner gets it by email straight away.
#How to send a message
- Scan the sticker and scroll below the call buttons.
- Under WHY ARE YOU CONTACTING? (optional), tap one reason, or none:
- The lights of this car is on.
- The car is in no parking.
- The car is getting towed.
- The window or car is open.
- Something wrong with this car.
- Under Send message to owner & emergency contacts, type Your name.
- Type Your phone number (10 digits).
- Type your message. A counter shows how many of the 500 characters you have used.
- Press Send Message.
#What the owner receives
The owner gets your name, phone number, the reason and your message:
- by email
- on WhatsApp, when MJX has it switched on
- and, on Light or Strict Privacy, their emergency contacts get it by SMS and WhatsApp
It is also saved in the Messages tab of the owner's dashboard. See Messages and alerts.
#WhatsApp the owner
On No Privacy (or Light Privacy when the owner has run out of call minutes), you may see a WhatsApp Owner button. It opens WhatsApp with the owner's number and a ready message: "Hi, I saw your vehicle. I'd like to contact you." It is never shown for Strict Privacy owners.
#If the message does not send
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| "Please enter your name" | Fill Your name |
| "Please enter your phone number" | Fill Your phone number |
| "Please enter a message" | Type a message |
| "Too many messages. Wait 10 minutes." | You sent 3 messages to this vehicle in 10 minutes |
| "Failed to send." | A network problem — try again |
#Tips for a useful message
- Say where the vehicle is and what is wrong: "Your car is blocking gate 2 of Sunrise Apartments."
- Say how long you can wait.
- Keep it polite. Spam can get your number and network blocked.
